With over 14,000 products and more than 1,000 brands available through our East Kilbride depot, and daily deliveries from our key supplier VWR Avantor, we ensure fast, reliable service. Our Team

Scott McQuilkin

Managing Director

Scott McQuilkin has been a valued part of the company for over 25 years. He began by working across departments—including logistics, project management, account management, and finance—to gain a full understanding of how the business operates.

His hands-on experience gives him a broad perspective that supports both customer satisfaction and internal growth. Scott plays a key role in building strong relationships with clients and colleagues, which he sees as essential to long-term success.

Outside of work, Scott enjoys spending time with family, as well as rugby, skiing, trekking, and watching the business grow.

Alan Hunter

Purchasing Manager

Since joining McQuilkin & Co in 1996, Alan has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and development over the past 29 years.

Alan began his journey in the stores department, where he developed a strong foundation in product knowledge. He then advanced to the role of Warehouse Manager and now serves as our Purchasing Manager. In this role, he focuses on building strong, first-class relationships with suppliers to ensure McQuilkin customers consistently receive the highest level of service.

Outside of work, Alan is a keen sports enthusiast with a particular passion for football. Come the weekend, you’ll almost always find him tuned into the latest match—cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty. In fact, the outcome of the game often sets the tone for his Monday morning mood!

Jordan Ovington

Sales Manager

Jordan joined McQuilkin & Co in 2016 after graduating from Strathclyde University with a joint honours degree in Biochemistry and Immunology. Since then, he has become a key member of our Sales team, specialising in Life Science consumables, particularly PCR and ELISA applications.

Jordan brings deep expertise in pipettes and pipette calibration, and has built strong working relationships with NHS clients through his hands-on support and technical knowledge. He thrives on engaging with customers, taking time to understand their individual projects and providing tailored solutions that help them succeed.

As a natural motivator, Jordan is great at energising his team and fostering a collaborative, positive work environment. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active at the gym and exploring new places—his favourite destination, so far, being Japan.

Nicole Slade

Sales Office Assistant

Nicole joined McQuilkin & Co in 2018 and has now gained over 7 years’ experience within the company.

She plays a key role in the service department while also supporting a variety of day-to-day office operations. In addition, she leads the team’s marketing efforts and enjoys getting creative during occasional photo shoots with our office dog, Zeus.

Nicole loves planning her next adventure—whether it’s exploring the charm of a new city or a relaxing beach escape. She also has a passion for baking, often filling her kitchen with the sweet scent of cookies and the hopeful presence of her dog Daisy, who is always on the lookout for a tasty nibble!

Lynda Ritchie

Financial Controller

Lynda has been a highly valued member of the company for over 40 years, playing a significant role in its growth and development since joining in 1982.

With over four decades of experience in financial operations, Lynda plays an integral role in supporting the company’s long-term goals. From purchasing to sales, she is the primary point of contact for all financial inquiries.

Lynda loves going on holiday, especially exploring the charming streets of Eastern European cities. At home, she looks forward to her regular Thursday night Zumba classes, values time spent with friends and family, and enjoys walks with her beloved dog, Zeus—though he often insists on stopping at the end of the driveway!

Steven Howie

Field Service Engineer

Steven joined McQuilkin & Co in 2021 and has now been a valued member of the service department for over 4 years.

In his role, Steven is responsible for the servicing, calibration, and repairs of laboratory equipment, ensuring clients receive dependable and efficient support. His role takes him on-site, where he enjoys the hands-on aspect of the job and takes pride in delivering practical solutions that ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Outside of work, Steven enjoys spending time outdoors, with running being his go-to activity for staying active. He’s also a music enthusiast and loves unwinding with his favourite tracks—whether it’s during a run, on the drive home, or simply relaxing after a busy day in the field.

Andrew Stewart

West Coast Account Manager

Andrew joined McQuilkin & Co in 2018 as the West Coast account manager, bringing with him 13 years of prior experience in the construction industry.

Since joining McQuilkin, Drew has gained extensive experience working on innovative projects across a diverse client base, including the whisky industry, NHS Health Boards, food and beverage companies, and many others.

Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with his family and is always happy to lend a hand with friends’ DIY projects. One of his favourite annual traditions is the creative challenge of choosing the perfect costume for his niece’s themed birthday party! He also loves being out on the water, especially paddle boarding on sunny days.

Allan Bridgeman

McQuilkin Group Operations

Allan has been with the company since October 2022 and currently heads Group Operations.

With a strong focus on operational performance, Allan oversees ISO compliance, Health & Safety standards, and provides HR support. Allan plays a key role in ensuring the Group operates efficiently, safely, and in line with regulatory and quality benchmarks.

In his spare time, Allan has been passionate about radio-controlled model cars, having raced and been involved in the hobby for nearly 30 years. He’s also an avid fan of World Sidecar Motocross. When he’s not following motorsports, Allan enjoys playing darts and catching Metallica in concert whenever he gets the chance.

Marc Roe

Warehouse Manager

Marc joined McQuilkin in April 2023 as a Stores Operative and has since progressed into his current role as Warehouse Manager.

As Warehouse Manager, Marc is responsible for the day-to-day organisation of stock—managing inventory, booking goods in and out, and preparing shipments for drivers. He ensures everything is accurately recorded, efficiently dispatched, and that the warehouse stays clean, organized, and running smoothly.

Marc is a passionate sports fan who enjoys both playing and watching football. He’s even had a brush with the spotlight, once playing the role of Neil Lennon’s driver! Outside of sports, Marc enjoys dining out, spending time with family, and relaxing with a good film or TV show. He’s also appeared as an extra in a few productions.
